A NORTH WALES PR agency is celebrating awards success after securing new clients in lockdown.

Radar PR director Martin Williams was named Professional of the Year at the 2020 PRCA Dare Awards.

The world’s largest public relations body organised the virtual prizegiving to champion news, marketing and media organisations across the UK.

Martin – a finalist in last year’s CIPR Cymru Awards in the Outstanding Independent Practitioner category – has made great strides since launching the Kinmel Bay-based business in 2018.

Radar PR represents organisations such as Coleg Cambria, PetPlace, North Wales Economic Ambition Board, Clogau Gold, Supertemps, Pure Perfection Clinic, FFP Solutions, UK Leisure Living, Acorn Leisure, Edward Hughes Solicitors and more.

New partnerships have been forged since the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic – notably with Direct Line Communications, Ask Emma Accountants, Active CCTV, Team Frogs, and Get Carter UK – with more lined up in the coming months.

The dad-of-three, who hails from Rhyl, has also led communications for the Taste North East Wales Festival, alongside marketing agency Be Social UK, and is a columnist for the popular Life in North Wales Magazine.

“This has been a tough year for everyone,” said Martin.

“The first few months of the pandemic were challenging, trying to balance home schooling with clients and concerns over what the future will bring.

“But we stayed focused, worked hard and with the support of our incredible partners and clients are starting to grow again as a company.”

He added: “To be a finalist in the CIPR Cymru Awards in the first full year of business, and then be named PRCA Professional of the Year recently was a huge honour, I didn’t expect to be in this position.

“I never take it for granted and given the circumstances we find ourselves in will continue to drive forward and try to be there with support and advice.

“I’ve held free webinars, hosted a series of Questions in Quarantine YouTube videos and supported local charities with campaigns, to shine a light on the amazing work they do.
