Accountancy firm doubles workforce and hits 40-year milestone with merger and new offices

Salisbury’s Chartered Accountants is marking its 40th anniversary with strong growth, a major practice merger and a workforce that has doubled in just two years – marking an exciting new chapter for the firm.

The business has expanded into north east Wales with the acquisition of HB Chartered Accountants in Mold, a respected practice previously led by Hilary Baines. The move reflects growing demand for Salisbury’s services and its ambition to build on its presence across the region.

As part of the transition, existing team members Vanessa Blanchard, Chartered Accountant, and Accounts Administrator Abigail Bowers-Baines have joined Salisbury’s, providing continuity and familiar faces for clients.

The Mold office, on Chester Street in the town centre, will be led by Senior Executive Manager Hannah Addison, alongside chartered accountant Luke Owen.

It joins the firm’s offices in Ruthin, Beaumaris, Llangefni, and Menai Bridge, as well as its headquarters in St Asaph.

Director Aled Roberts said: “Reaching 40 years in business is something we’re incredibly proud of. The pace of growth over the last few years has been phenomenal.

“To double our team in just two years and open new offices shows the strength of the relationships we’ve built and the trust clients place in us.

“Moving into Mold is a big step for us. We’re excited to be part of a thriving local business community and to support more companies and individuals while creating opportunities locally.”

The expansion takes total staff numbers to almost 50. In just six years, Salisbury’s has grown from one office to six, while keeping the same values and close client relationships it was founded on.

Director Caryl Rees added: “Growth is important, but not at the expense of who we are. We’ve worked hard to keep that personal, friendly approach while investing in digital systems that make life easier for our clients.

“Whether we’re working with a large organisation or an individual, the approach is the same – accessible, responsive and supportive. Our bilingual team and focus on developing our people have played a huge part in that.”

The firm’s directors are Aled Roberts, Caryl Rees, Jeremy Salisbury and Jason Matischok. Several members of the senior leadership team began their careers as trainees with the practice, including Hannah, reflecting Salisbury’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting from within.

The latest development follows the recruitment of six new team members last autumn, including trainee accountants, as the firm continues to invest in future growth.

Existing employees have also stepped into senior leadership roles, further strengthening the management team.
